Let me tell you a story......
Yesterday when I got off work I went to pick up my kids at the sitters. We were driving through Stansbury and I guess I didn't fully stop at a stop sign. "I like totally paused" There just happened to be a Tooele County Sheriff right there and he flipped his lights on. I pulled over in the parking lot of Stansbury Elementary and gave him my info. He was gone a few minutes and when he came back he asked me to step out of the car and come talk to him. I walked to the back of my car and he asked how many kids I had with me and I said 2, he then asked if someone could come pick them up and I asked why. He proceeded to tell me I had a warrant out for my arrest from a ticket that I got clear back in November 2008. My Yukon back then wasn't registered. I didn't realize it was a ticket, ticket I just thought it was a get it taken care of ticket so I did and forgot all about it. He said that because it was issued in Tooele he had no choice but to take me in, and if I didn't have anyone to come get the kids they would be placed with the state. Of course I called my mom crying and she said she would come get them. The officer was very nice and let me drive home to meet my mom there. That also means he didn't impound my car and I appreciated that. Well when my mom came to get the boys she had to go back to work so he waited for my mom to leave with the kids before he told me to turn around and put my hands behind my back. He cuffed me right there in my front yard! As we are making the what seemed to be 10 hour drive to Tooele I told him I was kinda bummed that I didn't have my camera because I would have totally taken our picture together to put in my blog. He said he was glad I had such a good attitude about this. Now here comes the more embarrassing part. When I was being received at the jail I knew a few people that worked there from my dealings at The Home Depot. I had to place my head on a wall why a lady patted me down, well it really felt more like a slight grope. lol I had to give them my shoes, belt and jewelry. I did tell them that out of all that stuff I really wanted the belt back the most. I paid a pretty penny for it and I would hunt down whoever took it. They brought me over to a desk where an officer asked me all sorts of questions. One being if I had any gang affiliation. I was like you know it! He said he could tell. : ) And when he asked if I worked and where I heard 2 or 3 of the guys standing behind me answer "Home Depot" in unison. I made the best out of a crappy situation. I laughed and joked and even the lady that frisked me asked where I got my super cute capri's. They stuck me in the room where you can have visitors behind a wall of glass that you can talk to them over the phone. I was offered yummy jail food but I passed because I was supposed to have a date that night. I sat there for 2 hours all while being completely grossed out that I had no shoes on. I had half a mind to ask for something to clean the room I was in because it was disgusting! Jarom was very nice and came and bailed me out. A big thanks to him! Well it turned out to not be as bad as it could have been I guess. At least they didn't put me in the holding cell with a VERY intoxicated woman who probably didn't smell to well. Also I never got the ticket for rolling through that stop sign!!!!
